Cannonball! Russian Vintage Movie
Posters Are Making A Big Splash.
The Russian Vintage Posters' artists used the styles of Constructivism and Montage.
And now you can buy these dynamic, vibrant prints for your wall decor!
A natural cinema that thrived in the face of Hollywood was the Soviet Union. Even tho isolated from the rest of the world,
the Soviets nationalized film production in 1919. Cinema became a way for the Soviets to assert their identity as well
as deliver their political stand to their citizens.
Georgili and Vladimir Stenberg, known as the Stenberg brothers, utilized Constructivist principles in the production
of dynamic compositions as seen in the poster, Man with a Movie Camera. In this case the dramatic perspective and spiraling motion draw the eye to the poster.
In 1920 Russian artists visited Berlin and were influenced by Dada. They adopted photo-montage, which became the tool of
Constructivists
artists and designers. Montage is a form of plastic art. (arrangement of cut out photographs). Sergei Einstein became the
master of film montage, published his initial ideas in 1923 Lef magazine. He joined the Red Army in 1918 and
painted
posters. After being released in 1920 he joined the staff of the Proletkult Arena.
For Einsteins's 1925 film, The Battleship Potemkin poster, designed by
Alexander Rodchenko,
you can see the dynamic composition firmly based in the Constructivists ideal.
Diagonal patterns to imbue Einstein's images with a dynamic force is reflected in Rodchenko’s poster.

Movie Posters Of Your Choice!

Who else would make a movie named USSR? Actually... every other country
involved in World War Two. However, besides that fact, one of the most
likely candidate would be Russia itself.
Russia has made (or translated)
numerous films about different topics ranging from a serious topic like war
to a childlike story about a young boy. Can you believe it? Russia has even
made a movie translation about the beloved all American boy who is prominent
in American culture, Huckleberry Finn. This movie memorabilia collection
covers the entire range of Russian vintage movies. Not only does it have a
huge range, this collection also allows you to buy a glicee print of a
certain movie you happen to enjoy. So use the glicee art as a wall poster or
an art deco, either way this print represents a vintage international
movie.
Although reading the Russian vintage movie posters is as impossible as
saying "loose lips sink ships" - ten times fast for those who cannot read or
speak Russian - it is still wonderful to have a piece of merchandise of the
movie you loved and have a cultural twist in it. You can also brag about
your Russian reading knowledge once your friends ask you what the Russian
word on the movie poster means! (I have a fencing shirt with a Russian
sentence on it, and whenever I wear it, there are always people
asking about what it means.) It'll be kudos to you.
Whether you want this print to be a part of your collection or whether you
just want this print to be a part of your life, there are many Russian
vintage movie posters to choose from. So don't waste any time and dive into
these movie memorabilia right away!
