February 1, 2008 is going to be the start of a great weekend for new theatrical releases. In addition to “the Eye” starring Jessica Alba and Parker Posey, “Strange Wilderness” starring Steve Zahn, is also slated to be released. However, this is not a drama, it is more of a thrill-omedy.
”Strange Wilderness” is a movie that follows a television wilderness show host who is trying to get his ratings back up to save his job. In order to rebuild his career he decides that he needs to find and film an exotic animal that no credible source has ever caught effectively on film, Bigfoot.
”Strange Wilderness” stars Steve Zahn, Ernest Borgnine, Ashely Scott, Allen Covert and Jeff Garlin. It is rated R because it contains crude language, crude humor, sexual humor and it depicts drug use. This is not a kid friendly film, but it will entertain teens (with adult supervision) and adults. The information that is available on this film look like it will be in line with buddy films like “Without a Paddle.” Paramount is the distributor of this film and will be in line with other similar movies released by this company.
Every generation has a series of films that really defines the era. While “Strange Wilderness” may not receive critical acclaim, it will undoubtedly generated a cult following. If you enjoy this film consider collecting comedy movie posters, B movie posters and even horror movie posters of movies you enjoy and identify with.
