Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and if you didn’t get out to see a romantic film you can do that this weekend. However, if you are in the mood for a classic, indie zombie flick, then today you are in luck. Today, “George Romer’s Diary of the Dead” is being released.

”George Romer’s Diary of the Dead” is a cross between “the Blair Witch Project” and “Night of the Living Dead.” The premise of this film is that a group of college students go to the woods to film a horror flick. As they film their movie they learn that the dead are starting to rise from the grave back at home. As the movie progresses the team discover that they are basically on their own as all lines of communication have been destroyed. In response to their situation the college students turn their horror flick into a horror documentary as they film everything that happens, including their own deaths.

This film runs for about 95 minutes. It is appropriately rated R for elements you expect in a zombie flick, gore, horror violence and language. “George Romer’s Diary of the Dead” was produced by Englebradt, Katz, Spigel and Grunwald and stars: Nick Alachiotis, Joshua Clone, Matt Birman, Laura DeCarteret and Amy Ciupah Lalonde.

While February is a month traditionally dedicated to romance and lovey-dovey things, these things are not everyone’s cup of tea. That’s why I love the February horror films and the February dramas that are released. They provide the entertainment world with a little balance.
