This week the horror/thriller fest for March movie releases continues. The first option is the horror/thriller flick Shutter. This movie, directed by Masayuki Ochiai, is in line with the Ring and the Grudge. It incorporates the concepts of spirit photos and unsolved tragedies. It stars Joshua Jackson, David Denman and Rachel Taylor and is distributed by 20th Century Fox.
If you are tired of dark and scary films, and are instead interested in a romantic drama, then consider seeing Meet the Browns. This is another installment of the Tyler Perry film series starring his character Madea. This film focuses on the trials and tribulations of his family life and stars Tyler Perry, Angela Bassett, Rick Fox and Margaret Avery. Lionsgate is the distributor for this film.
Since yesterday was the first day of spring I am in the mood for something light and funny. Fortunately for all of us there is one comedy being released today, Drillbit Taylor. This movie stars Owen Wilson as a bodyguard who advertises in Soldier of Fortune and is hired by a couple of high school students who are being bullied. This movie is rated PG 13 for sexual humor, crude humor, partial nudity, language, bullying and drug references.
While last week’s selection of movies was pretty dark and scary, this week’s selection offers more variety. If you are up for a horror film see Shutter, if you are up for romance see Meet the Browns and if you are in the mood for a laugh see Drillbit Taylor.
