Slapstick comedy movie posters are going to be very big next weekend. Two great comedies are scheduled to be released. The first one is Get Smart starring Steve Carell, Dwayne Johnson, Anne Hathaway and Alan Arkin. This Warner Brothers film is a remake of the television series Get Smart, and looks like it is going to be a fun family film. It is rated PG for action violence, rude humor and language, but it should be tame enough for kids and teens.
Another comedy slated to be released next weekend is the Love Guru starring Mike Myers, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Alba and Ben Kingsley. This comedy, being released by Paramount, follows the store of an American raised by gurus in India who returns to the states to make his fortune and to become a famous self-help guru. He establishes his reputation by reuniting a famous hockey player with his estrange wife so that he will play in an important match. He is then enlisted to help end the 40 year Bullard Curse. This looks like a typical Mike Myers film, with lots of slapstick, inuendos and raunchy humor. In other words, a good time.
The third film being released on June 20, 2008 will be featured on drama movie posters. It is Brick Lane. This drama, starring Tannishtha Chatterjee, Christopher Simpson, Satish Kaushik and Zafreen, follows the story of a women brought to England for an arranged marriage. She attempts to live up to her traditional role as a subservient wife and mother, however, she finds love with a local man and she must decide to take control of her life and try for happiness or reject love and remain loyal to her husband. This film is produced by Chris Collin and directed by Sarah Gavon.
