Next week you will have three fantasy/sci-fi features to choose from. The first option that you have is Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. To get into the mood for this film you may want to explore the history of animated movies to see how animation techniques have evolved from clay-mation to CGI. This film is packed full of CGI special effects so keep your eyes open. This movie is the continuation of the first film. It was directed by Guillermo del Toro, who also directed the Oscar nominated film Pan’s Labrinth. This film stars Ron Perlman, Doug Jones, Selma Blair and Luke Gross. This is a Universal Picture and looks like it is going to be better than the original.
If you collect science fiction movie posters then this is a great week to head to the theaters. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D is being released. This fantasy/action adventure film gives a modern twist to the Jules Verne epic novel of the same name. It stars Brendan Fraser, Anita Briem and Josh Hutcherson. This is a Warner Brothers released that has been rated PG for intense adventure and “some scary moments.” I’m guessing the dinosaur chases are what they are talking about. This one looks like a great family film.
Your third option is Meet Dave. This Eddie Murphy film looks like a lot of fun, and one film you may want to get giant movie posters for. The premise of this film is that small aliens come to earth in a human size vehicle, and try to blend in as they study humans. This is a 20th Century Fox comedy and stars Eddie Murphy, Gabrielle Union, Judah Friedlander, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Helms and Pat Kilbane.
