The New Year is here and so are the winter film releases. January is notorious for horror movie posters and horror film releases. This year in January you can expect to be thrilled with week after week of new horror flicks and science fiction sequels.
The movie releases anticipated for January 2 include the Butterfly Effect: Revelation, From Within, Slaughter and Perkins 14. The January 8 releases will include the Unborn. The January 9 releases will include the Bride Wars, Clive Barker Presents Hellraiser and Inkheart.
As you can see there are a couple of lighter movies scheduled for release during the first half of January 2009. Bride Wars is one of the funny movies being released in January. The premise of this film is that two weddings are scheduled at the same time at the same venue and all Hell breaks loose between the competing brides. Other notable releases during the first two weeks of January 2009 are the sequels to the Butterfly Effect and Hellraiser.
In the coming weeks the movie theaters will be stripped of their cheery holiday movie posters and re-decorated with slasher film movie posters, science fiction movie posters and other new year themed film posters. I wonder if this is a reflection of the mood changes that we face each year during the first two months of the year? Any thoughts on that?
