Last week we talked about throwing an animal attack movie themed Halloween party. This week I’d like to talk to you about throwing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre themed Halloween party. To start with find movie posters that feature scenes from this classic horror flick. These will be your inspiration for your Halloween party.
For decorations you will want to focus on dusty colors and items that look less than new. Old tablecloths that you have tea dyed or that have faded and frayed will work well for decorating for your party. Rusted road signs and hand painted wooden Do Not Trespass signs are both going to add an interesting touch to your party’s décor.
For food you will want to keep things authentically Texas. Tex-Mex food will work well, as will rural delicacies like cactus and armadillo. Keep things simple and buffet style. For drinks focus on Texas favorites like beer and basic sodas.
Games for your Texas Chainsaw Massacre will need to tie in somehow to the movie. You can develop movie trivia games, Texas Chainsaw Massacre Bingo and Texas Chainsaw Massacre themed charades. You can also have a TCM themed scavenger hunt or you can put together a TCM themed haunted house in your basement or garage.
