After reading some of the movie blogs posted on Posterwire I was excited to review the movie releases scheduled for the second half of August. The last week of August has an interesting collection of new film releases including College, Babylon A.D. and Disaster Movie.
On August 29 College is set to be released. It is a 90 minute comedy that follows a couple of high school seniors who plan a weekend road trip to visit colleges in order to help one of the boys to get over his broken heart. They end up pledging a fraternity in order to get invited to parties and enjoy the spoils of college life. This film stars Gary Owen, Drake Bell, Andrew Caldwell and Haley Bennett. It is being released by Lionsgate and is rated R for language, nudity, drug references and alcohol abuse.
Another film scheduled for an August 29 release is Babylon A.D. This adventure film stars Vin Diesel as a mercenary who is hired to deliver a young woman to his employer. This 20th Century Fox film is rated PG-13 for violence, language, action sequences an sexuality. It stars Vin Diesel, Michell Yeoh, Mark Strong, Gerard Depardieu and Charlotte Rampling.
Your third option on the 29th is Disaster Movie. It is in the same family of films as Epic Movie and Scary Movie. It is a comedy that has been rated R for nudity and sex. It stars Matt Lanter, Carmen Electra, G-Thang, Crista Flanagan, Vanessa Minnillo, Kim Kardashian and Nicole Parker. This film, like the other “Movie” movies, is being released by Lionsgate.
