This week’s theatrical releases start with “the Visitor.” This is a comedy drama that is a follow up to “the Station Agent.” It has a run time of one hour and 43 minutes and stars: Richard Jenkins, Haaz Sleisman, Hiam Abburn and Danai Gurira. The storyline of this film is based on an average man whose life is turned upside down by a chance encounter with an undocumented citizen. Things get heated up when the man’s new friend is being held for deportation and he does what he can to prevent this from happening. “The Visitor” is rated PG-13 for strong language.
If you are up for a police drama then you will want to see Keanu Reeves’ crime drama “Street Kings.” This films follows a cop who is searching for people who killed his partner. Fox Searchlight is releasing this film with an R rating for pervasive language and violence. Staring in this film are: Keanu Reeves, High Laurie, Forest Whitaker and Chris Evan. “Street Kings” run for one hour and 47 minutes.
For people looking for a classic slasher film, you will want to go see “Prom Night.” The premise for this film is that a high school teacher becomes obsessed with one of his students, kills her mom and is put away. However, on the night of her prom he escapes and hunts her again. Most likely a predictable storyline, but screams are nearly guaranteed. This film stars Brittany Snow, Scott Porter, Jessica Stroup and Dana Davis. It is rated PG-13 for terror, violence, underage drinkning, sexual content and language.
”The Visitor,” “Street Kings” and “Prom Night” all have reasonably good reviews, so if you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, why not head to the movie theater?
