The summer movie season has officially been kicked off. However, while a few of the early summer blockbusters have already been released there is still a lot more to come. While the films released in May were primarily action/adventure flicks, June has a softer side. One of the must see films being released in June is My Life in Ruins. My Life in Ruins is scheduled to be released June 5, 2009. It is rated PG-13 for sexual content and is a romantic comedy. It stars Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Maria Adarez, Richard Dreyfus, Sheila Bernette, Maria Botto, Rachel Dratch and Ralph Nossal. It is being released by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
The premise for My Life in Ruins is simple. Nia’s character is a tour guide who is stuck guiding a bunch of misfit tourists through Greece. At the beginning of the movie her life is in ruins, hence the name of the movie, and she is just working as a tour guide until she can land her dream job. As the movie progresses she regains her zest for life and find a man with whom she is compatible with. Love is in the air, but obstacles are bound to complicate things. This is a great date film or a great film to watch with your girls.
